Christine Diaz

“I know that I will never have the impact I desire if I don’t push my own boundaries and strengthen my ability to be ‘comfortable with being uncomfortable.’ At the same time, I firmly believe that one must model the behavior one speaks of. I ask myself how can I push my students or my own children to push themselves, to be persistent and resilient if I don’t practice what I preach? I desire to be a Surge Fellow to gain the confidence and executive skills to take my leadership to the next level.”

Christine Diaz passionately serves urban youth as Chief Education Officer at Acero Schools. She’s also an avid competitive bowler and Latin ballroom dance enthusiast.
